If Putin had not started this war NATO would have already had military bases in Ukraine with US ballistic missiles aiming at Russia. Therefore, I believe he made a right move.

The path for a state to join NATO takes a very long time, sometimes decades. If at least one state that is a member of this alliance is against it, there can be no talk of any entry.
When the pro-Russian Yanukovych became president of Ukraine in 2010, words about Ukraine’s desire for NATO membership were gradually removed from all government documents, as well as from the law “On the Fundamentals of Domestic and Foreign Policy.” Therefore, at the time of Russia’s attack on Ukraine in 2014, there was not even a remote prospect for Ukraine to join NATO. Therefore, NATO missiles from Ukraine aimed at Russia are complete nonsense.

Was Russia actually not at all bothered by NATO missiles aimed at it from Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia? And now these missiles aimed at Russia from Sweden and Finland are not interfering? Really, you can live with this? Only when Ukraine could join NATO in ten to twenty years did it for some reason become such a global danger for Russia that a decision was immediately made to destroy Ukraine militarily. Maybe the reasons for the attack on Ukraine were still different than these fairy tales about NATO?
