Manchester United is a team at that level and the target of winning is the most natural thing when they spend a lot of money to recruit quality/new players, but this is not easy, everything requires a process and Manchester United is going through that process with Ten Hag.
Manchester United management has changed coaches in the last few seasons so there is no reason to look for a coach and expect instant achievements. Everything needs a process and in my opinion what Manchester United management is currently doing is correct.
Now Ten Hag only needs a few additional quality new players to fill the squad and I think Man United under Ten Hag will be much better next season.
To me, I feel INEOS made a very good choice in retaining Eric Ten Hag, he might not have been very successful in the concluded season but winning two trophies in two years is something worth giving him a second chance, if you notice, he's currently the most successful coach post Sir Fergusons era in Manchester United and with the right recruitment I think he'll do better this coming season. Like you said Manchester United is going through a process and with Ten Hag and the new recruited teams in the board level, including a new medical team and restructure of the training ground, not leaving out new recruited players next season, i believe they'll be successful and would probably challenge for the EPL trophy and qualify for UCL but I expect them to be one of the top contenders of the Europa League next season.
