I don’t know why a lot of people have no hope on Kompany as the new coach of Bayern Munich. If he was a great player at Manchester City, he would be a great coach with Bayern Munich very soon. He has signed a long contract and I feel with time he’ll get to perfect his managing skills and be better than before. Expectations shouldn’t be that high for him from his first season, but I don’t think he won’t improve with them from the way he was at Burnley. I know he would have knows the big task that awaits him, so he won’t be that relaxed but will put extra effort to reach the demands of the club. In his first few matches he will showcase to us what he’s capable of doing in the next season.
I think it is mostly about the experimental character of that engagement. Whenever Bayern went for an experiment in the past, it usually didn't go very well. But of course this could go well, but don't forget that Kompany has nothing to show except for the promotion with Burnley into the Premier League.
Bayern is a world class highest league club. Now he is a coach who gathered some experience with Anderlecht and Burnley and the next step feels like it is too much. Nagelsmann has proven on a very respectable level that he is able to manage teams with stars. Nagelsmann was even younger, but especially the pressure in Leipzig was always high and he has proven that he understands how to handle it. It's not the same for Kompany. But I don't care actually. Give him a chance and they'll find out. Top coaches weren't available and those who were seem to be declining jobs for next season. It's only Zidane and Mourinho from the list of big names I guess.
