If a footballer is consistently delivering quality football for more than three to four consecutive seasons, he's regarded as a football god.
I think my standard is skewed since I regarded so many players as good footballers. If we're using this standard at face value then there are too many football gods in my world. Honestly, this is my first time hearing this term, most of the time we're just using "best players" whenever we want to debate about the best player on earth today. Granted I'm not that active on social media either, so if I need to put a label such as "football god" then I'd stick with Pele, Maradona, etc. With how chaotic social media is nowadays, it's way too easy for people to label someone as a "one-season wonder" or the opposite after a terrible/good Champions League run (or football competition in general).
Even for the UCL itself it can also be confirmed that Real Madrid can become team that is much more difficult to beat, and the fight for the UCL title is also getting more difficult.
If I were Madrid I'd put a priority to the Champions League.
