Mental disorders are one of the risks that can occur if they are addicted to gambling, especially if they themselves cannot stop even though they have experienced many losses. with the many defeats they experience, it will make them experience pressure that can affect their own mental health which ends in mental disorders, apart from that, they become addicted, this is because their thinking has been influenced by gambling, so mental disorders are a definite impact. It happens, some are even still aware of the pressure they are experiencing but because they are unable to bear the pressure they end their lives, it's scary.
Indeed, even those who are addicted will not easily be able to accept advice from other people, even from their own family members. If they are addicted to thinking, they will not think about other things, it is unlikely that they will be able to think about other things around them. because if they are addicted to gambling, they will only focus on what they want and gambling is what they want, so they will continue to gamble even though they have experienced many losses and losses, even with bad consequences.
The fact is his friend doesn't want to let go the first money he lost and so he continues to gamble to get everything back whereas he is now blinded to know he has lost so much now, this is among the common reasons that causes gambling addiction, another is almost similar whereas someone won an huge reward and will continue to stake even if his total loses is now way bigger than the huge win but will be blinded.  This is just part of the psychology of most gamblers, the false hope of getting an huge win.

My advice is for him to tell his friend to move on and forget about the lost or else things will more likely become worst.
that was his mistake, where he did not accept that the money he gambled was lost, so he had thoughts of wanting to recover the loss which led him to gamble again and again. The initial point of the problem was that he himself couldn't let go of the money he had lost, because if he could let go of the money he had lost, maybe he wouldn't have the thought of wanting to recover it, and I think that with him being like that, he didn't realize that he had lost or lost. money has become something that is certain to happen, so he has thoughts that go against the flow with clear decisions that cannot be avoided or even changed.
Indeed, when they win, the feeling of wanting to get a bigger win will occur, even though their losses may have been covered, the feeling of wanting to get a big win will appear, especially when they have won, it can make them think that they can get a bigger win by increasing the amount of their bet first. Moreover, maybe luck is still on their side because they have already won, so they think there are still more wins that can be obtained, even bigger ones, but of course this is not a guarantee because it is very likely that they will only experience the loss of the winnings they have already obtained.
