I never think Leverkusen can match their unbeaten record next season, but everyone can expect logical things about them next season. Xabi Alonso has a big responsibility to maintain his team's performance, this is the most difficult challenge I imagine for him next season.
It is very difficult to maintain the success that has been achieved, every time a new season rolls around there will always be an increase in competition and different performances displayed. However, I still believe Leverkusen will be the toughest competitor for Bayern Munich and Dortmund next season because they still maintain the squad that has won trophies this season and will likely bring in new players to add to the team's strength. Xabi Alonso responsibilities will be even heavier next season because Leverkusen will play in the Champions League, the level of competition which is more competitive than the Europa League means that Leverkusen must perform optimally if they want to survive longer in this most prestigious competition.
For the Bundesliga competition, there is still very big possibility for Leverkusen to be able to maintain its performance next season in the Bundesliga competition with several other teams such as Bayern Munich, Stuttgart which are in good condition and Dortmund.
But unfortunately for the UCL I sure everything will be very different from what we are talking about, the competition is not only about few Bundesliga teams but also several big, strong team from various leagues and this gives curiosity about how the competition will be.
For the Europa League, we have clearly seen how Leverkusen was able to become very strong team and easily reach the final, but if something like this happens in the UCL then it is big surprise which is certainly very satisfying.
It just that imagining who will be the opponents in the UCL competition makes me laugh and think whether Leverkusen will really be able to do all that, in my opinion just being able to reach the semifinals is already big achievement for Leverkusen.
