Inflation is general. It’s in every country on earth. Unless the country doesn’t use fiat (which isn’t possible because what then are you using as legal tender). In the next couple of years, the cost of petrol would likely be more than that. And even if it isn’t, other items like food items, or clothes would cost more. How you’d know this is when you look back to how it used to be, you can see the trend of inflation.

In the next years, the cost of everything will be higher than now... this trend will not end anytime soon. As you said, we just need to look back. I guess our paychecks are also rising, but not with the same speed, sadly inflation is winning that race all the time.

The cost of petrol is around $2.10AUD per litre, which is insane.

Here in Serbia, it's around $1.9, depending on whether you wish a 95 or 98. One is under and the other is around $2. Generally, everything is more expensive than before, some prices almost doubled from 2-3 years ago. I guess the biggest problem is food, we spend a lot on food, it's an everyday need, especially for big families with many kids.
