Life insurance is part of what we should place priority on especially our health insurance. Just like they say 'health is wealth', if ones health status is good, their is still a much hope for such person to be rich. In most case, people don't do insurance out of poverty but out of ignorance and adequate knowledge about it's important. If people really know it's important, I believe they will put priority on it just like we do for other things.
I think what you say is true because I also see and refer to what many people around me have done, where many people have started to consider health insurance for themselves. And this may be because their knowledge of insurance has started to improve so they have started to think that personal health insurance is a very important thing for everyone to have regardless of whether the person is rich or poor. Because accidents and sudden illnesses can happen to anyone regardless of the person's background status.
Not only health insurance, but life insurance or other types of insurance are also really important, but lack of understanding and economic conditions are barriers that make many people misunderstand them as useless, even some people calling life insurance a scam. But I think no matter how difficult the economy is, we should equip ourselves with health insurance because it is extremely important and will bring great benefits if we have an unexpected accident.
Personally, I have had health insurance for many years and have never had to use it but I have witnessed the huge benefits of purchasing it. 5 years ago, my father had kidney stones and had to have surgery, the cost of an operation is up to $3k and that was a huge amount of money many years ago in a poor country. But fortunately, my family only had to pay more than $1k and the rest was covered by insurance. Since then, our entire family has purchased health insurance every year because we see its importance.
