I watched a lot of interviews with players who smilingly talked about how they lost for months, losing almost everything in their lives. Starting from the apartment and ending with the trust of loved ones - which I consider in each case the most expensive loss. So, these people then got a very big win, and often it was so big that it would be possible to return all the material goods sold. But these ludomaniacs did not fix this profit. And they played on and lost.
I think the very first mistake a gambler could possibly make infact is the idea of believing that gambling will restore lost hope. Now don't misinterprete my point, as I'm not saying that it's not possible for gambling to restore lost hope, however my point is view gambling as a hope restorer may only make things worse. To start with wins are most interesting when you never expected it or saw it coming. However if you tend to be expecting a win , it won't feel that much interesting if you eventually get it.
Gamblers should avoid believing too much in winning a bet as it has some disadvantages like probably giving the gambler the urge to stake more so he can increase his wins.
