As you have more and more people buying and holding, or buying to use, then volatility will decrease. In percentage terms it seems to me (without doing any analysis) that seems to be happening. Sure a $5000/bitcoin swing is a lot in monetary terms, but percentage-wise, perhaps not.
People who think note this and then are pessimistic are thinking short term and need to look at the trend over years.
