A crazy scenario happened between Arsenal and Man City in the final round. Arsenal has been slow at the end of the season, while Man City has always been steady in the sprint. The past 2 seasons have always been the same scenario. Man City had a time when many people questioned their ability to win the championship this season, but once again Pep Guardiola's team has proven that they are truly the kings of long-distance racing by having an unbeaten streak of up to 22 matches since December. In mid-April, when Arsenal and Liverpool both stumbled self-determination was given to Man City. They continuously won to hold that advantage until the final round, crushing all hopes of their direct competitors that Man City would stumble.
Arsenal have been excellent in the Premier League this season, but they face an extraordinary Man City side. Arteta's Arsenal is on the right track and if they continue to improve further, they can dream of winning the championship next season.
Consistency is one of the assets that Manchester City has had in the last few seasons, because if we look at the performance which is almost the same every season, I even see a slight decline. However, I can't be sure whether the decline they are experiencing is because they are really declining, or if it looks like other teams can improve, so it feels like Manchester City is declining.
Apart from all that, I say it is extraordinary for Manchester City, because it is not easy to maintain consistency, especially when they do it in the Premier League where the level of competition is very high. Pep Guardiola was very instrumental in what Manchester City achieved under his coaching. Winning so many titles and even being able to get the Champions League title for the first time, I think that is something very extraordinary. Pep Guardiola can write gold ink in the history of Manchester City.
