If Arsenal are not mentally confident then they need to be mentally confident first. In the last two seasons they have competed hard for the English Premier League but the results of the competition have not been in their favour. The teams in the English Premier League are tough enough and Arsenal have done well against them, but while they do well in the Premier League competition, they don't do very well in the UCL competition.
This season they should build the team in such a way that they can do well in the English Premier League as well as do very well in the Champions League. If they are not getting full performance from the player towards the end then new player should be appointed in that place even if their performance should change significantly.
