Alonso got consistent performances with Bayer Leverkusen throughout the season and his results would have been even more valuable had he been able to win the EL final. Those coaches who can achieve long-term stable results are valued, if Alonso doesn’t achieve anything with Bayer next season, the attitude towards him will also change, they will say that he was just lucky, or even regarding the final, a strong team could beat Atalanta, which means luck also played its part role for Alonso.
All eyes will be on him this coming season and that’s when the real comes in because no one not even Leverkusen manager expected him to pull off such performance but since he have shown us a little something now everyone will be expecting him the emulate what he has shown. It would have been a perfect season if he won the Europa League but it still all smiles for the management and the fans. I am one of the few who believe in Alonso and i don’t think it was all luck but i guess there is only one way to find out, until the season begins.
Exactly, if Alonso wants him to be continuously praised as a good coach, he needs to repeat the same thing he did in his first season at Bayern Leverkusen coaching them. At worst he should not be on the wrong side of the final result after the season. He is a respected coach more since he won the trophy without losing any match. He needs to continue that performance with them until he fully believe and make that impression to everyone that he can be the best coach everyone wants him to be and like other successful coaches and not just a lucky one as others might foresee it.
To be regarded as a great coach or player consistency is all that matters, you need to show a certain level of performance for a consecutive period of time. Alonso have shown ambition but to be up there he needs to be consistent with this performance. It’s good thing he didn’t join a bigger team this season where he will be under pressure at least he still needs time to grow into a better coach.
