Successive failures in the last two seasons have left Arsenal deeply disappointed, they almost won it, but due to mistakes made towards the end of the season, the EPL trophy belonged to Manchester City. Arteta has succeeded in making Arsenal a team capable of competing in the title race, but as a result of not being able to consistently maintain their performance, they had to settle for finishing as runners up.
Even though they are now an elite team in the EPL, Arsenal is still not able to become an outstanding team. I don't really hope that Arsenal can win the UEFA title because it is not easy to win because there are so many elite teams participating there. Arsenal must form a mentality in their players to win the EPL trophy as capital to continue their success at European level.
That's right, Arsenal are now perceived as the only team that can resist City, and I think that will remain the same next season. Liverpool will have a new coach, it is unknown how he will cope with managing the team, and I also don’t expect anything big from other teams, Newcastle often has a lot of injuries, or Chelsea came Mareska, but there are no new transfers, I won’t say anything about Aston Villa yet, I think that Emery is capable of surprising. So Arsenal remains the most likely opponent who will try to become a champion again.
It took Arsenal a long time to be in this position now, in a position where they are considered one of the teams that are most calculated to win the title. In the last 2 seasons, they have actually shown very good progress, but they have not been able to consistently maintain it, they slipped several times and in the end they gave Manchester City an opportunity that was not wasted.
They should be more mature now, nothing has changed much within the squad, Arteta will just add some new ammunition. They might be able to play even better next season and be able to win the title from Manchester City. But we'll see how good Arteta is in bringing Arsenal to win the title next season.
