I find it a bit odd that people want Alonso to consistently produce good results (winning trophies) before he can be called a good coach. I mean, if his achievement with Leverkusen is just "lucky", then how would you judge his competitors? I guess every manager is terrible nowadays, which means a club should pick their coach randomly if that is the case. No point analyzing a coach's profile as long as they can get a bit lucky once in a while. He's probably not the next Guardiola, he won't have as much leeway with buying players, and he doesn't have to be one. Then again I guess he doesn't care what people think of him, especially if the club and the fans are happy with him.
I feel like that's normal? Just because he did amazing for one season, are we suppose to call him the greatest ever or something? For example Zidane won three UCL's in a row, I think nobody alive did that before, and he managed to do that, and I still say "go manage some other team than los galacticos and we will see" to his level, because if you put him in current United for example, he would suck badly, he was given the best team ever and that's how he won.

In any case, Xabi Alonso basically took a team that wasn't this good, and made them unbeatable for so long, which is why I think it's normal for people to think that he is amazing, I just want to wait a bit longer before I pass on judgement, lets see how he does this season as well.
