It was unfortunately that Leverkusen did not win Europa finals but that did not stop them from having a remarkable season. They were much successful last season than any other season because they won Bundesliga unbeaten. No one expected Atalanta to be the winner of last season Europa because they were underestimated.
I believe that next season Atalanta will try their best in Champions league and same with Leverkusen but I don't know if they can go far, because champions league is not the same with Europa, and in the previous seasons, Europa champions don't go far in UCL.
Never has Leverkusen recorded the kind of success they recorded in the bundesliga as they did last season, for them it's a historic one that spammed through Germany and Europe and even for big teams, if they happen to get such record in a season, they are most definitely going to see it in same light because everyone will agree with me that staying unbeaten alone is a record on its own, then winning the trophy is another record, it will be very okay to say they maintained two records in the bundesliga so it's a really huge success and should be seen as such.
Europa turned out to be a misfortune for them but they still and the best record in the Europa last season and Atlanta had the Europa victory for them as a turning point, they after the Europa finals victory, became more tough than they had been and they even played an improved game because their confidence was on a different level at the moment since they were now winners and champions of the Europa, their domestic league games became such that they were playing with was, it would have been a very interesting one if they were going to come defend the trophy in the Europa but fortunately for them, they are elevated to. Much bigger and top league let's hope for the best from them in the champions league and this applies to Leverkusen aswell because they too are deserving of an accolade and recognition due to their performance last season.
