It is not an easy thing to be able to compete in the Champions League, because in the Champions League the big teams compete, for Leverkusen of course they will compete with other big teams and maybe this will make it difficult for them, it is very unlikely that Leverkusen can immediately dominate the League Champions.
But in the end, something like this has to be done because when a club is as new and improved as Leverkusen this season, there obviously has to be a new challenge and the Champions League is a suitable place to test whether they are worthy or still need improvement for their current club.
Being in the Champions League will indeed be very difficult but on the other hand this is clearly hunted by many clubs including big clubs because after all this is an arena to prove themselves that indeed their club is not only good in the domestic league but for big competitions they can compete.
This is what Leverkusen must show because after all for now they have to go through it because it is the only way they have to do it. This is a test for Xabi and as a benchmark whether they deserve to be called the best club or not even though their chances are still slim compared to some other big clubs but with this season's achievements they are certainly a dark horse for next season.
