Atletico Madrid don't want to take risks by replacing Diego Simeone, so they will continue to keep him until Simeone gets bored of being at Atletico Madrid. Indeed, they are stable under Simeone's coaching, I mean they have not experienced a very significant decline that makes them have to drop out of the top 4 for example.
I can understand why Atletico Madrid are too "scared" to fire Simeone, because there is no guarantee that they will be better under the new coach. but the problem is that they will never know whether they will achieve success if they are in the hands of a new coach or not. Simeone has been coaching Atletico Madrid since 2011 and has won 2 la Liga trophy for Atletico Madrid, the first was in 2013/2014 season and the second was in 2020/2021 season. He's good with the players but for me the team really needs to try the service of another new coach for the club if they can stand the chance to win more la Liga titles and since Diego Simeone has undergone a surgery on his knee requires him to have some rest and time for himself so I don't think Atletico Madrid will experience a decline in performance if they find another coach because the team is very competitive in the la Liga and Simeone has also taken the team to a level that they can still perform better without him.
