Don't forget that taxes are also used to pay the salaries of civil servants who often work below standard and work without pressure compared to the pressure faced by private employees because private employees will always work according to the targets set by the company, and private employees pay taxes, that's the cycle and it is quite ironic indeed and there is nothing that can be done other than accepting and hoping that the government uses the tax money fully for the welfare of society and corruption is not something that can be avoided in a country with low law enforcement. However, taxes should not make us give up hope of achieving the financial goals we hope for, so that when we have to pay taxes it no longer makes us annoyed.
Don't say government workers don't work without pressures or work below standard. We have 3 tiers of government which are the federal level, the state level and the local government levels. The position and Place that people works actually determine the effort they put in their work and so is their payment. A person working in a federal level do have some pressures and have to do standard work else they will be relieved from there work or even demoted to lower level but a state person workers doesn't get high pay and might do less work and also the local level.
The only advantage of government work is that you are entitled to gratuity and pension after you leave the work but in a private settings where the company only pay you when you work, your job is not secure like that and you can get fired at any time but government job hardly sack person once they are been handled their employment letters and you can take leave most times while private leave is a very difficult thing that need to be negotiated.
