If Germany had lost, it would have affected the morale of the team if they entered the knockout stages of the competition after just losing a game so the fact that they haven't lost any game yet in the competition will keep the motivation of the players high to maintain the record they want up to the finals.
Oh yeah that makes sense, that's the only reason why Germany tried to score after being one goal behind, previously I thought Germany didn't need to do anything to qualify but I forgot that enthusiasm and motivation must be maintained and a dramatic win can give them more confidence.
