As I expected, Switzerland played a completely defensive strategy in this match. Winning the match was not their goal. Switzerland's goal was to draw the match, and gain 1 point. And Switzerland team has managed to do it.
Throughout the match we saw the dominance of Germany's players. Switzerland players on the other hand were very tactical. Only 34% of the ball possession was done by Switzerland players in this match. And made a total of 3 shots. After Dan Ndoye's goal in the 28th minute I didn't see a stronger attack from the Swiss players. However, despite Germany's players attacking a lot, it was very difficult for them to break down Switzerland's defence. However, after 90 minutes, Germany was able to draw the match with Fullkrug's goal.
Germany will have trouble with injuries of Rudiger and Tah, their main central defenders. Some days for these players to recover from their injuries and get ready for a next match. Their defense system will be affected a lot if both Rudiger and Tah won't be available for a next match.
This draw means Germany and Switzerland take first two positions in this group and Switzerland again will have another Euro in knock out stage.
Facing Spain soon is quite risky for the team hosting the competition. Italy and Croatia are way easier than Spain in my opinion. Germany was expected to end this stage first and both of them, Germany and Switzerland, to move to the next stage.
Hungary won as I expected Scotland and could move to the next level too. That was an important victory for them.
Germany tried to get a draw against Switzerland because they did not want to face Spain too early. Meeting Italy or Croatia looks to be easier for Germany but it will not be easy for Germany if their opponent is Italy. Italy and Germany through their head to head record, is always big and unpredictable match and Germany actually did not have sweet memory with Italy in many big matches. In World Cup 2006 in Germany, they lost to Italy in the semi final match, another match in Euro 2012 with Balotelli's goal.
