I do not understand what are you talking about. Germany could not get to Spain in the 1/8 because the second place in Group A plays with the second place in Group B. Spain took first place in Group B ahead of schedule, so such a meeting was impossible. Now Germany will play with the second place in Group C, which of course looks better than a potential game with Italy.
