With the arrival of Mbappe, Joselu had no chance to play for Real Madrid, even if he remained as a substitute. Joselu, who had a below average performance throughout the season, was Real Madrid's savior in the Champions League. Joselu signed for Real Madrid at the age of 34, which is a late age for an average center forward. Joselu is the lowest paid player at Real Madrid, earning 2.5 million euros a year. With perhaps two more seasons left in his career, Joselu's best option would be to leave Real Madrid. Finally, football is a very strange game. Joselu had a really below average performance during the season and his finishing was incredibly bad maybe he can be played in a mid table team but definitely not at Real Madrid's level.
Juselu of course feels pressured by the current situation. On the one hand, he definitely wants to continue playing with Real Madrid even though he is not used much by the coach because he is most likely only a reserve striker for Real Madrid if the main striker is experiencing problems or dead ends. As far as last season he performed well when needed and managed to save Real Madrid several times, whether in Laliga or the Champions League, he was Real Madrid's only pure striker last season but he was not really used by Carlo Anceloti. Moreover, currently Ancelotti already has a pretty good striker so he is increasingly being neglected. So why stay if he mostly sits on the bench, so better that he decided to leave Real Madrid and choose a smaller club so he can play more and earn money a bigger salary than what Real Madrid gave him.
