Group E was indeed intriguing. Before the final matches, each team in Group E had accumulated 3 points, leaving all of them with a chance to advance to the next round. In the recent Ukraine-Belgium match, the score ended 0-0. Unfortunately, this result meant that Ukraine bid farewell to the tournament despite having 4 points. Interestingly, other groups saw teams advancing with just 3 points. Meanwhile, Belgium, also with 4 points, secured second place in the group. To be honest, the France-Belgium match promises to be a clash between two quality teams, with an outcome that’s difficult to predict.
I think Belgium is no longer a team that has many chances as a team with a high average age. They have some quality players but France have young, dynamic and fast players. In my opinion, France is luckier, but of course there will be a football match. No one can say anything without playing a match.
I have had experience where a team struggled to qualify in group stages but turn out to become the winner if the tournament. I have seen it happen in world cup and the recent one is the AFCON last year where the host nation, Ivory Coast , came from best loser to win the trophy. I'm not saying that Belgium will win the Euro 2024 but we should not rule out the possibilities because they have everything needed to win the cup. Similarly, France is also a force to reckon with which could only win one match in the group stages and came second in the group behind Austria. We should be expecting something remarkably different at the knockout stages.
