Enzo Maresca has a track record of winning some trophy but he has not independently won the Premier League on it own, it has alway been a merge manager with Guardiola and all that credits goes to Guardiola because he is the only person they know as the true manager. If not for Chelsea that called him to represent the team as the new head coach, I might not know him because even when Leicester City called him, I didn't pay attention to his contract.
Now that Chelsea need a good place in the Premier League, he need to assure the management that he is capable of leading the team to the permanent side which is either staying in the first place by winning the Premier League or don't go below 4 place otherwise the faith that met the sacked coaches is going to meet him as well. But if he survived this pressure and do well, he will enjoy his stay in Chelsea as Todd Boehly hasn't gotten a better coach since he bought Chelsea FC.
This is a case where they hope that the student will surpass his teacher, but I have not yet seen such a case, so for Boehlу this may just be speculation based on expectations. But on the other hand, they are constantly doing something, changing things, trying to create a team that can win, at least they would like to achieve this. But the coach is not the only thing that needs to be changed in the team in order to start winning, there are problem positions in almost every line that need to be worked on, so Maresca’s task will be very difficult.
