I don’t think PSG had the goal of winning the Champions League last season, although when they got so close to the final, I’m sure they started thinking about it. Of course, it is possible that in the absence of Mbappe some other forward will be able to take on the role of leader in the attack and reveal his potential, but this rarely happens, especially since PSG want to get a quick result, so they want to buy a good forward who can immediately take Mbappe’s place and start scoring.
The absence of Kylian Mbappé in the PSG is sure something the team should be concerned about and looking for an alternative to replace his position will be just the best way to go about it. Since Mbappé joined the PSG, he has shown all indications through his efforts and consistency to bring trophy home for the PSG and he was able to prove it through his active engagement in the club throughout the season. He was arguably the most performing player in the league and to a large extent in the Champions league all of which culminated the successes recorded by the club through out the season.
People, Mbappé upgraded; he didnt vanish. Though PSG is a decent squad, the French league isnt quite elite. There, winning is like winning a high school trophy - nice, but it doesnt impress the big boys in La Liga or the Premier League.
Though he still needs to show he can play with the big boys, Mbappé has promise. And PSG, quit weeping over spilt milk. After Mbappé, move on. Create a genuine squad rather than a bunch of players hoping for one to step up and save the day. Do you want to win? Give teamwork as much weight as individual genius. Its time PSG improved and adjusted. This is now the major leagues.
