The Saudi pro league will continue to cook and this time it is Ricardo Rodriguez's turn who is rumored to be joining one of the teams in the Saudi pro league. His appearance with Switzerland at Euro 2024 has sparked interest from several clubs, but not only that, considering that Torino's free agent status means he can go anywhere freely.

His experience at several European clubs that he has played for, such as Milan, PSV and Wolfsburg, will certainly be an attraction for why the Saudi pro league team wants to recruit him. As a center back who can also play as a left back, it would be very useful for teams that need a stronger defense. One of the titles he can be proud of is having led Switzerland to win the U-17 world cup and I think that is a very good achievement.
How about Ricardo Rodriguez? Another Saudi victim. He's skilled, no doubt. It's hard to reach the Euro 2024 quarterfinals, but he didn't carry the team. The average age of his new league is about to increase. Yes, I understand. Money talks, and the Saudis are lulling these players. But at what cost? Rodriguez is in his prime and trading Europe's biggest stages for what? A couple additional zeros in his bank account and a tan?

This is modern football's issue. Passion has given way to profit. When did footballers dream of winning the Champions League? Now they want to raise a huge Riyadh novelty cheque. It's a damn shame
