In the last two seasons we have seen Manchester United spend 96 million on Antony, and 75 million on Hojlund. And the performance of these two players did not go well with United. Ten Hag is heavily funded by Manchester United management. Ten Hag is adding players to the squad as per their choice. But these players are unable to adapt themselves to the gameplay of Manchester United. I would say this is Ten Hag's failure. He is unable to find suitable players for his squad.
This season too, Manchester United management is providing big funds to ten Hag to buy players. But I think Ten Hag will be a waste of money this season too. He can't find the right players for the squad. I would have been very happy if the Ten Hag had been sacked this season by the Manchester United management and a new experienced coach had been given the reins of the team.
Yeah, that's an excuse for him, he's got a lot of players and needs to try a lot of combinations. But I look at other coaches who come into the position and many of them manage to get the players to start winning. Maybe not the first time round, yes, but they clearly haven't had as much time as Ten Hag has. Others would have been fired a long time ago if they were him.....
Don't forget that Mason Mount and Onana were also actually failed purchases made by Ten Hag. Hojlund is slightly better while Antony whichever way we look at it is not suited to playing at Manchester United. The problem with purchasing Ten Hag is that he focuses on players who play at Ajax, this season every decision to purchase a player is not entirely under Ten Hag control, Ineos Group is playing its part in order to minimize the recurrence failed purchase. Manchester United management is aware and no longer gives full control over players because they have learned from last season that they do not trust the decisions of the players chosen by Erik Ten Hag.
In my opinion, the recruitment of players this season will be a little different and will likely have a positive impact, as long as Erik Ten Hag only gets a 50% share of new players and Ineos Group 50% .
I strongly disagree with your opinion said that onana was a failed purchase by Ten Hag. Onana's performance was amazing at the end of the season. He saved many shots from Manchester City's players in the FA Cup final. Onana helped manchester united to qualified for europa league 24/25 and won FA cup trophy.
In conclusion, Onana's performance was still as an above-average goalkeeper in the Premier League. But, he struggled when he came to United, but it's usual thing for a new player that never played in PL before.
For ten hag's transfer policy, and ten hag is not solely focusing on purchasing ajax's players. Ten hag was buying the player that he thought would be very beneficial for manchester united. Onana came from intermilan, Mason from chelsea and hojdlung from atalanta.
And last, what you said about ten hag's transfer policy is not true at all.
