To some extent, this season turned out to be unique for Borussia Dortmund, but only due to the fact that they were able to reach the Champions League final, without this, their season would have been very ordinary, and their main success would have been just reaching the Champions League zone in the Bundesliga. Yes, they were very lucky in the match with Barcelona, when Barcelona received a red card in the first half, or with PSG when the ball stubbornly did not want to fly into the net, but luck also plays an important role.
So far, Dortmund has no more than just targeted finishing in the top four of its Domestic League, so that they can still compete in the Champions League. Apart from that, several of their young talented players are a priority to become new players who have commercial value who can bring profits to the club. If we look at the last two seasons, all of this cannot be separated from the hard work done by Edin Terzic. Previously, Dortmund almost broke Bayern Munich's dominance, but unfortunately they failed to do so. Last season, Dortmund entered the Champions League final. Regardless of Dortmund's luck in several matches in the Champions League before reaching the final, Terzic has actually given his best to Dortmund during his time as head coach. Even though they failed to win the trophy, if we look at the depth of the team they have, Dortmund was able to survive until the deciding round and that is a big achievement for Terzic with players who don't have a very competitive squad, if we compare it with other elite teams.
