Chelsea have been spending heavily on young players this summer and I think Marc Guiu is the one who most interests me. As is known, Marc Guiu is a product of Barcelona's La Masia academy and last season, if I'm not mistaken, he played several matches with the first team.

However, overall he is actually quite a promising player but indirectly it is also difficult for him to get a place in the first team so Barcelona let him be sold and Chelsea also want to redeem his clause which is quite cheap at 6 million euros. His position is attacker and it feels like if Enzo Maresca can develop his potential better then he could be a solution for Chelsea in attack. Marc Guiu also has a contract duration until 2029 and it is a long-term project for Chelsea for him.

This is what they should have done ever since and not splashing lots of million of euros on big players that weren't delivery what they have played for. I believe spending money on young players is actually a good move for Chelsea atleast these youngster's would evolve and grow with the team well that's if the coach is capable enough to actually work things out.
Chelsea long term plans deserve a thumbs up, they have bravely taken steps to build squad depth with a composition of young players, but the recruitment of Marc Guiu has added to the burden on Chelsea front line. How will Enzo Maresca accommodate playing minutes for Nkunku, Jackson, Broja, Deivid Washington, Marc Guiu and Lukaku (most likely to leave) in his squad next season. I think one or two players will be sacrificed by being released permanently or on loan, or it could be that Enzo Maresca has a special strategy to rotate them in different competitions.

On the other hand, with Chelsea having a number of young players in almost every line, perhaps everyone is very curious about their journey and consistency next season, how far they can go at domestic and European level. I assume the squad that Chelsea is building will need a lot of time to process, maybe at least one or two seasons. Meanwhile, next season, Chelsea chances of being on fire are relatively low, because Enzo Maresca himself needs time to adapt in his first season. Indirectly, this provides freedom for Man City and Arsenal to compete like last season.
