Manchester United haven't gotten any new players in the transfer market and they have been listing players they don't want to be in the squad next season. Of recent they have been planning on giving Evans a new contract to continue with the Red Devils and they prefer to have Jonny Evans on the team than keeping Harry Maguire who has been one of the players who tried his best to keep the defense on track before injury came calling. Is it a wise choice to have Evans and discarding Maguire? I won't say it is a good idea because Jonny age is not on his side and he's not as fast and mobile as he used to be back then in the days of Alex Ferguson. Victor Jörgen Nilsson Lindelöf is also asked to leave the club like they don't want him, to me is better to give Maguire and Lindelöf a new contract than giving Evans a new deal, and I ask again is Maguire not important for the team for the Red Devils to discard him?
Reshuffling the players by offloading some players and bringing in new players will help to improve the club performance which I don't think is a bad idea. If you look at the transfer window currently, there is no much transfer made because every club is waiting to see the right player they will sign after the ongoing competitions due to their performance.
Eric Ten Hag should know the players that he needs to strengthen the team force and he should also not forget that he is on his last trial, if he messes up with next season, he will get fired. Let him be given more time to make his decision on the players he needs.
Ten Hag should be less likely to make too many mistakes at his last opportunity, especially in this summer transfer window, where a mid-season sacking may be inevitable if United are inconsistent. An overhaul of squad depth is really needed, and players like Maguire are worth keeping. Last season Ten Hag tried to let Maguire go, but on many occasions Maguire was the solution to United porous defense line.
United management may want to ensure the transition of players goes well, and Ten Hag thinks Evans is still worth keeping to maintain balance in the dressing room. United have reportedly officially released a number of players, indicating they will recruit a number of new players in this summer transfer window, and Ten Hag looks like he will spend another big budget.
Rumors are growing that Matthijs de Ligt is getting closer to joining Old Trafford, and it is not impossible that Ten Hag will also promote a number of young academy players for next season. As we know, Matthijs de Ligt is a former protégé of Ten Hag, Bayern is reportedly open to hearing United offer.
