I think bitcointalk might have added profile pictures as a feature years after the site went live, or maybe that's gif profile pictures I'm thinking of and not regular images. Sorry if it's a dumb question but it's just something that just came to mind.
Bitcointalk allows users include newbie members to upload and wear avatars before policy change to no longer allow newbie members to wear avatar, after a hack.
It can be in early years, earlier than 2011 before newbie restriction on avatar.
Newbie restrictionsAccepting default Bitcoin avatars in 2012.
Avatars re-enabled but only Full members can wear avatars in 2015.
