New York TimesThis is actually good news in my opinion. Especially I am very happy to actually know that Luka Modrić is staying. Even though he is old, the quality of him actually surpasses anything else. Tony Kroos could also play for a longer period of time. But we all know that the Kroos is not someone to do that. You know Kroos has previously famously said that "
he is retiring because he is not able to give his 100% anymore." But you know even 70% from him is good enough. That also applies for Luka Modrić as well. Florentino Pérez and CEO José Ángel Sánchez said they are in discussion about reducing Modric's salary a little Modric also accepts that and they committed money is not important here.
Anyway, I am happy that he is staying. Carlo Ancelotti is going to have a really quality player on the bench if he stays.
My favorite midfielder in the La Liga. A true legend that has won so many titles. He is old but has good responses in controlling the midfield alongside Tony Kroos who is a bit younger. When I heard he was signing a new contract i was expecting a two year or 3-year contract. Not until I saw this information that it was a year contract. I always have this belief that he would retire in Real Madrid and not any other club. Since it is a one year contract i feel he is still planning to play in other leagues like the Saudi Arabia and American leagues.
