England were the main favorites before the tournament (slightly ahead of France) and then it seemed logical. But it turned out that neither the head coach nor individual players (like Foden) can surprise with anything and play entirely mediocre. Now Spain is the actual favorite since they are rated a little worse than England, but they will have to play with the hosts of the tournament and then with an equally difficult opponent. And this seems fair since Spain have the best game in the tournament.
England has disappointed everybody that had high hopes that they were going to bring it home. They have not played like they want to win it but playing like they did not plan for the tournament. Spain and Germany are the best nation so far and they will be battling it out on Friday. England is lucky that they are not playing any of the two nations because they would had ended their tournament in the quarter finals if they played either Spain or Germany. The England players like Foden is proving why some Pep Guardiola critic always say he is not good at building individual players but a team player. His players only work well when they are playing together under him. No Manchester city player has proven themselves at the Euros and Foden is just one of them that is not showing up when it matters.
But KDB was still good, Belgium failed but I can't blame him.
England's biggest success is that France took second place in the group and went to the most difficult branch of the tournament. If France had played normally, we would have seen good semi-finals on both sides, but it seems that the main cutting will happen only in the top branch. It's paradoxical that England can become champions with such a bad game.
