An investor can keep his investment alive with proper control, and if the planning is right then success is definitely possible.

There is no strategy you will adopt when accumulating Bitcoin without been successful that is if you keep on accumulating and hodling for a longer period of time, you can adopt the DCA strategy without hodling your Bitcoin for long and still become unsuccessful. What matters here is how much quantity of Bitcoin you were able to accumulate and hodl for longer period of time between the range if 4-10 years and above you can be successful in an method you wish to accumulate Bitcoin with be it lump sum strategy or buy the dip strategy or DCA strategy what mater is how much Bitcoin and how long you were able to hodl onto with besides always waiting for the dip before accumulating Bitcoin is not a good strategy of accumulating Bitcoin.
