Without the acceptance that he had addicted to gambling, he will not listen to other people that suggests him to cure his gambling addiction. Other people will difficult to asks him to go to rehabilitation center because he will refuse to go that place. He will consider that everything still fine and he can control himself but it is not. He will only gets deeper in gambling without have a chance to solve his problem.
Gambling addiction is a habit caused by total dependence on gambling as the only source of hope for survival, of which most times when you gamble and lose, you ought to have been wise enough to stop for the day, but due to the addition, such people never always mind simply because they are lost in the gambling reigm. Which means most times a person do not need to accept the fact that he has changed or willing to change before he could be taken to rehab for habilitation, as many could recover from that addiction while still in the recovery process.
That's right, usually people who are addicted to gambling fully expect gambling to be able to give them a big win so that they think they can make their lives change, but unfortunately that excessive expectation becomes a disaster for themselves which makes them trapped in gambling and losses. With this excessive hope that every gambler has, I think that's what makes them unable to stop even though they have experienced successive defeats, the hope they have still encourages them to continue gambling. Also with those who expect more in gambling usually tend not to be able to control themselves well so they are not easy to stop gambling.
I think when they are like that but are forced to be taken to a rehabilitation center it will not make it easier for them to recover, unless they really want to recover then it might work. Also I think only people who are very consistent in recovery can quit and succeed.
