Switching from the game England vs Switzerland for a while even though later we will discuss again at length about the chances of both.
I want to say that the two favorite teams with Odds given by the bookie, both are right on target. Spain gets ODDS 1.81 and Germany 1.96. Spain's final result passed.
Portugal vs France match, the bookie bet made France a favorite team with Odds 1.65 and Portugal 2.19. That is, Portugal failed and the city was good in choosing a favorite team.
If the two matches have results and the two favorite bookies betting teams have escaped, then for two more matches between England vs Switzerland and the Netherlands vs Turkey, do you choose the team that is favored by the betting bookie?
Odds show what teams are considered as stronger and have better chances for winning but football is not always bring winnings to stronger teams. France and Spain won their quarter final matches but with small differences against Germany and Portugal. Portugal and Germany had their opportunities to finalize their matches before 120-minute endings but they either lacked of luck or did not finish well enough. France and Spain are strong, played well and got support from luck too. They deserved to win but both Germany and Portugal actually feel pain in their defeats.
Well, as much as I agree with all that you have said, I will like to also emphasize on the fact that France and Spain did not win their match against Germany and Portugal respectively; as a result of luck, France is a known football nation, they are very good, France played in the finals against Argentina in the 2023 world.
Spain as well plays very well, they are simply good with football.
So, for teams like this, I usually do not attribute their winning their matches to luck, because they have the skill, and with their skill, they can beat any team who's skills doesn't match up to theirs.
If either Germany or Portugal had beaten their respective opponent, then that would have been considered as luck on the part of the team that won.
Just a personal opinion though.
