Arsenal have been good for two seasons, but they have struggled at the end of the competition and have always failed to emerge as champions because Man City's dominance is still quite strong. Arsenal lost their momentum at the end of the competition so they lost a lot of points which allowed Man City to lead. Last season the competition was very tight with Man City, Arsenal and Liverpool having a fairly close points difference.
But in the end Man City managed to dominate so that Arsenal's chances of winning the Premier League title failed again. Arteta has to learn from two consecutive seasons and if they don't fix it then I doubt Arsenal can compete again next season. Some mistakes actually made Arsenal fail, even though if you look at Arsenal's ability last season it was quite good.
In fact, Arsenal have tried their best in the past two seasons to chase trophies, but have not produced results. Apart from that, Man City is too strong and always consistent. This is what makes it difficult for Arsenal to get trophies, but Arsenal still have to be proud because who would have thought that Arsenal's development in the last 2 years would be like this. Look at Arsenal so far because before Arteta's arrival and several years before Wenger retired, Arsenal could be said to be a mid-table team.
Of course, all Arsenal fans want to see this team grow and develop in the following seasons. They are better than last year, and Arteta must use the failures of the last two seasons as valuable lessons so he can take the next step to win the title next season. Arsenal only needs to concentrate in crucial matches so they don't lose points easily. This is Arsenal's weakness in the last two seasons, unable to control the pressure from Man City in the last 10 matches at the end of the season.
I actually like the fact that the Arsenal club is actually giving Arteta a lot of money so that he can bring in good results. And the thing is, they had to put in so much money if they actually wanted to compete against a club like Manchester City. And they are bringing in good results. Right now they are actually comparable with Manchester City. Which was definitely not something we could say about Arsenal a few years ago.
But the thing is going into the next season, is not going to have anything to say to defend themselves if they are unable to win the English Premier League title. They have been showing promise since the last three seasons. This is high time Arteta's squad should be consistent enough and win the English Premier League title. If you cannot do well under pressure, you probably do not deserve to win the title by the way.
