I agree with you that France and England are very lucky to have qualified for the semi-finals. Despite having two of the strongest squads in the Euros, their performances were very poor. Spain and the Netherlands are in a very good overall position compared to France and England.
Am just surprised few people are talking about the Netherlands but for me I see Spain and the Netherlands qualifying for the finals because this is literally the two teams that have shown energy and consistency since the competition started. Last time I watched the Netherlands against Turkey, they were so determined even though the Turkish team also looks threatening but yet the Netherlands were able to come from a goal down to equalize and still win Turkey with Cody Gakpo and Memphis Depay in the frontline of the Netherlands, they were so dangerous and at the defense, Nathan Aké and Virgil van Dijk were very active and i just feel the Netherlands have a very forceful squad hence their ability to reach the semi final stages so they will certainly be very difficult for England despite that they've also got a good squad but the energy of the Netherland team is much better than England. However i see Spain and Netherlands reaching the finals.
But France and England are lucky. So I wouldn't be surprised at all if these two teams win in the semi-finals. Both these teams have the potential to qualify for the finals. But the performances of the players of both the teams are weak and erratic. But personally I think the most deserving team to win the Euro title is Spain. I will be very happy if Spain wins the title.
Honestly, I still don't know how France and England got to this semi final stages because this two teams, regardless of having good quality squad but their performance is not appealing at all but they just managed to reach this Semi final stages and it will be more shocking if the both teams make it to the finals because I will have to think deeply if matches are determined by lucks or efforts and good performance of a team towards their success. It's not as though the two teams are very backwards considering the high professional players they've got but I just feel their performance isn't enough to lead them to the finals but whichever way it is, let the strongest teams reach the finals.
