Virginia governor orders smartphone ban in schools — The Hill
Glenn Youngkin, the governor of Virginia, has issued an executive order that requires the state's Department of Education to develop a plan for schools to implement a smartphone opt-out policy within the walls of educational institutions.
The final plan for schools to opt-out of gadgets will be released in September, and schools will have to implement it by January 1, 2025.
Yangkin said the move will equally benefit both students and educators.
