Biden speaks at the NATO summit: the main thing
📍Speaking at the NATO summit dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the alliance, Joe Biden said that since he took office, more and more NATO countries have begun to fulfill their commitment to spend 2% of GDP on defense. He explained that under Donald Trump, only 9 countries spent 2% of GDP on defense, and now their number has grown to 23.
📍The President announced that the United States and allies will provide Ukraine with dozens of new tactical air defense systems and added: "In total, Ukraine will receive hundreds of additional interceptors."
📍Speaking about the war in Ukraine, Biden emphasized the importance of protecting "brotherly democracies" and said: "The war will end with Ukraine remaining a free and independent country. Russia will not win."
📍Biden mentioned that 350,000 Russian soldiers were killed or wounded as a result of the invasion of Ukraine.
