Last season Arsenal managed to reach the quarter-finals, where expectations for Arteta's fleet were actually quite good, but in the end they failed at the hands of Bayern who were experiencing setbacks. Madrid, City and Bayern next season will be the main forces in the race for the trophy, and other candidates such as Arsenal are behind them. Arsenal's main priority is the Premier League, even though they are still trying their best in the Champions League, it is quite difficult to appear balanced in every competition.
Arsenal just needs a lot of experience in the UCL before they can get the UCL title. I mean actually Arsenal is focused on the EPL to win the title in the domestic league but Arteta also wants great experience to continue to see Arsenal shortcomings. So everyone already knows what will happen if Arsenal will definitely fail again in the UCL and return to focus on the EPL but there they will also fail.
This is what Arteta wants to learn to manage the team well arranging the match schedule to remain consistent in several competitions and this has been Arsenal weakness while under Arteta tutelage.
I said in another thread that actually Arsenal doesn't need to chase too much in the UCL but just focus on getting a title in the domestic league to improve the mental readiness of the players and if that all works, I'm sure in the UCL, Arsenal can perform even better.
