Thomas Muller have been one of longest serving players in the history of Germany national team so I think his retirement from the national team after 14 years of playing representing his country is a good decision for a player at his age. If Germany had won this summer's UEFA Euros Championship, Muller would've left the national team on a high but unfortunately for them, they were eliminated by Spain who eventually won the tournament. I think Muller still have one or two years to play professional football again at club level and for him to still remain at Bayern Munich till this very moment, I think German striker wants to end his football career at the club.

If Germany had won the home Euro, it would have been an excellent end to Müller’s career and for Kroos as well, Spain was luckier, they will remember this hand ball play for a long time, but nothing can be changed. Probably only Germany could stop such a Spain... Yes, Müller will spend several more seasons in the Bundesliga without any problems, but it is clear that he is no longer as good as before, he will probably play as long as the coach gives him such an opportunity, and when he starts spending too much time on the bench then decide to end his career.
