He may not go crazy at the drawing board like Guardiola or Nagelsmann, but he has his own way to let the team know where some kind of mathematics kick in. He includes things like the opponents becoming tired, the few chances his team will get, the efficiency his team works with, etc. etc. Ancelotti is someone who has all the little aspects in his head and he knows when to intervene tactically and in how far he can let his team just do whatever the team thinks is right. That's a very interesting approach, but I think it is a good way to do his job. They are all professionals on the pitch and he always had a mix of experienced players and younger super talents exactly for the reason that experience will guide his talents and he is taking care of the mental state of his players.
