I'm admiring Modric's ambition honestly. Every time it feels like "That's it! Modric is going to leave and retire.". But in all those times, he proves me wrong. His energy never depletes which is impressive. I'm saying it again anyway. I think this is going to be his last year at Real Madrid for real. But he will add more to his memories with probably new trophies too.
He is one of the best midfielders in history in my opinion.Madrid will be troubled if they lose their two veterans immediately because after all, the loss of Kroos has clearly created a large space in the midfield, so they must keep Modric for the short term.
His role on the pitch is still very useful, although it may not be the same as before where he will probably only be a support for the younger players, but of course we must realize that his presence in the squad will mentally grow the young players in Madrid at the moment.
It seems likely that this contract extension will be the last one before Modric decides to move to a smaller competition or perhaps even retire at Madrid like Kroos did this season.
