Arteta’s aim is to win trophy for Arsenal next season. The team’s main target is the EPL, they wants to show their quality to win the Premier League ahead of Manchester City because they have gone far; the team is improving massively and yo be a runner up in two consecutive seasons is not easy, they lost the Premier League title in their last match of the season which shows that they can win it next season.
If Arteta can get a better chance to go far in the Champions League, they will do so because Arsenal is in need of all these trophies including the Champions League and any other Cup they will be playing next season.
After Arsenal have consistently improved their results in the Premier League for 5 years in a row and received silver in the last two seasons, next season will be decisive. If they can't build on their progress in the form of a title, it could break the players. Despite progress in results over the last two seasons, they have received more criticism than recognition. Trophyless Arsenal has become a meme, but I don’t think they deserve such treatment, especially considering the fact that they have become better than all other clubs except the club that is accused of cheating.
As I already said, the next season will be decisive - if Arsenal does not take the title, then progress will be replaced by regression.
