Yesterday we saw the announcement of a contract extension for Luka Modric and today Real Madrid made another announcement for one of their players who received a similar contract, namely Lucas Vasquez. He will still be in Ancelotti's plans for next season and as a back-up to Dani Carvajal it seems he is the only one suited to do so.
Both Luka Modric and Lucas Vasquez have both received contract extensions for another year or more precisely, ending in 2025 and their adventure will continue to bring Real Madrid to win the title.
Anyway, one thing I remember most about Lucas Vasquez is his calmness and of course some people will not forget how this player was so cool when taking a penalty kick in an important match like the Champions League and he deliberately juggled the ball before kicking it.
Meanwhile, Luka Modric, who was previously expected to follow Ronaldo to the Arab League, instead received an offer of a contract extension from Real Madrid. He was very lucky because at the age of 38 he was still really needed in a squad which on average consisted of relatively younger players. Maybe Ancelotti sees him as a leader and his experience can guide younger players to help bring out their full abilities. Modric may soon follow Toni Kroos after his contract expires or look for another challenge in a lower level of competition before officially retiring from football.
