Yesterday we saw the announcement of a contract extension for Luka Modric and today Real Madrid made another announcement for one of their players who received a similar contract, namely Lucas Vasquez. He will still be in Ancelotti's plans for next season and as a back-up to Dani Carvajal it seems he is the only one suited to do so.
Both Luka Modric and Lucas Vasquez have both received contract extensions for another year or more precisely, ending in 2025 and their adventure will continue to bring Real Madrid to win the title.
Anyway, one thing I remember most about Lucas Vasquez is his calmness and of course some people will not forget how this player was so cool when taking a penalty kick in an important match like the Champions League and he deliberately juggled the ball before kicking it.
He's a player with great composure and, for now, he's one of the senior players in Madrid's era of the Champions League hat trick so it's great that Madrid have extended his contract and are still giving Vasquez a chance.
He's been a good option as Carvajal's cover until now especially in some urgent situations like last season where Carvajal had to fill in at center-back he can be used as a full-back. In addition, it seems that for next season there will certainly be many opportunities that he can use with a busy schedule and additional matches in the Champions League because the new draft of course this will make Ancelotti think further in the rotation of players and with the presence of Carvajal it is clear that this will make the situation more focused in the defense position.
