That's the full amount due because of the terms I accepted. If I was willing to wait longer (undisclosed amount of time, possibly years) I could have MAYBE gotten a bit more but considering I didn't have a lot on there anyway < 1 BTC I didn't mind just taking what I got. Still way more than it was worth at the time that I lost it and now it will never leave my hands again

And the real question is how many of the repents are at <1 BTC vs how many are at 10> BTC

You don't need to sell what you got it is not much.

But people getting 10+ coins will need to make hard decisions. As to how to protect themselves from tax issues.

Assuming you mean actual payout (not claim); roughly ~20% < 1 BTC, ~15% > 10 BTC (between 0 and 40 000 BTC each). This was 2014, the rate was somewhere around $1000 per Bitcoin when MtGox closed the trade.
