Transportation costs and other conveniences are quite influential. Gasoline may be an important factor and I think what you say is true.
However, it all comes back to government policy, because the government has an important role in everything, even though a country has abundant agricultural products, this does not guarantee prosperity if the government does not make policies that are profitable for farmers.
I also agree that the main point is directed at the government, which is the party that can make every community feel prosperous through a policy set by the government. Because the welfare effect is not only for farmers, but also for all elements so that farmers and other workers can also feel their own enjoyment when they continue to live and work to earn income from the work they are engaged in. And talking about the costs of transportation itself, the government also has the right and authority to regulate this matter so that it is not more burdensome for all elements of society.
